Besides dabbling in arts, I have been playing computer and video games for almost whole of my life. So, why not create some art about them? Here you see some familiar faces dressed up as some of my favourite game characters from contemporary titles.
1. Eliza Dushku as Rubi in Wet
2. Daul Kim as Tarantula in Wet
3. Chen JiaJia as Han Juri in forthcoming Super Street Fighter IV
A return to the 'imaginary movie' I drew as a homage to late Daul Kim (see 27th December '09 entry for more information). Here we see the story's heroine in the same motel we saw her lingering in. But did these scenes happen before or after? Only time will tell...
A bit different update this time. Congratulating 'Chinese golden flower', tennis player Jie Zheng for her impressive run in this year's Australian Open. She already has reached semi-finals where she faces her favourite active player Justine Henin who made a comeback just a while ago to the professional tennis. Wishing all the best for little Jie! [update] Eventually she lost the semi-final but nonetheless a great run no one really expected. We hope to see even better performances in the rest of the season! Go Jie, go and don't let the semi-final loss upset you!
I couldn't help it. After making illustrations inspired by U2's Achtung Baby I had to give the same treatment to Zooropa. Not only because it was their next record but also because I think it's a true conceptual follow-up to Achtung Baby. So once again I present an 'illustrated record' in two parts.
"There must be some way out of here", said the joker to the thief.
"There's too much confusion here, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth.
None of them know along the line what any of this is worth."
"No reason to get excited", the thief, he kindly spoke.
"There are many among us who think that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been thru that, and that is not our fate.
So let us not talk falsely now, because the hour is getting late."
All along the watchtower and princes kept the view,
while horsemen came and went, barefoot servants, too.
All I got is a red guitar, three chords and the truth.
All I got is a red guitar, rest is up to you!
"There's no reason to get excited", the thief, he kindly spoke.
"There are so many here who say life is just a joke.
You and I, we've been thru that, and that is not our fate, at least today.
So let us not talk falsely now, because the hour is getting late, laate!" Yeaaaa...!
